Calculate Tension

Formula

To calculate the tension (\(T\)):

\[ T = F \times \sin(X) \]

Where:

Tension Definition

Tension is defined as the force applied to an object through a pulling motion. It is the force that is transmitted through a string, rope, cable, or any other form of a flexible connector when it is pulled tight by forces acting from opposite ends.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Using the formula:

\[ T = 100 \times \sin(30^\circ) = 100 \times 0.5 = 50 \]

The tension is 50 N.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Using the formula:

\[ T = 200 \times \sin(45^\circ) = 200 \times 0.7071 \approx 141.42 \]

The tension is approximately 141.42 N.
