To calculate the rock coverage:

\[ RC = \frac{CA}{CAT} \]

Where:

\(RC\) is the Rock Coverage (tons)
\(CA\) is the Coverage Area (ft²)
\(CAT\) is the Area per Ton of Rock (ft²/ton)

What is Rock Coverage?

Rock coverage refers to the amount of rock needed to cover a specific area. It is calculated by dividing the coverage area by the area that one ton of rock can cover. This measurement is useful for landscaping and construction projects to determine the quantity of rock required.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Coverage Area (\(CA\)) = 1000 ft²
Area per Ton of Rock (\(CAT\)) = 50 ft²/ton

Using the formula:

\[ RC = \frac{1000}{50} = 20 \, \text{tons} \]

The Rock Coverage is 20 tons.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Coverage Area (\(CA\)) = 1500 ft²
Area per Ton of Rock (\(CAT\)) = 75 ft²/ton

Using the formula:

\[ RC = \frac{1500}{75} = 20 \, \text{tons} \]
