The formula to calculate Relative Humidity is:

\[ RH = \left( \frac{VDa}{VDs} \right) \times 100 \]

Where:

\(RH\) is the relative humidity (%)
\(VDa\) is the actual vapor density (g/m³)
\(VDs\) is the saturation vapor density (g/m³)

What is Relative Humidity?

Relative Humidity is the ratio of the actual vapor density to the saturation vapor density of water in the air. It is expressed as a percentage and indicates how much moisture is in the air compared to the maximum amount of moisture the air can hold at a given temperature.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Actual Vapor Density (VDa) = 10 g/m³
Saturation Vapor Density (VDs) = 20 g/m³

Using the formula:

\[ RH = \left( \frac{10}{20} \right) \times 100 = 50\% \]

The Relative Humidity is 50%.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Actual Vapor Density (VDa) = 15 g/m³
Saturation Vapor Density (VDs) = 25 g/m³

Using the formula:

\[ RH = \left( \frac{15}{25} \right) \times 100 = 60\% \]

The Relative Humidity is 60%.
