The formula to calculate the pool deck square footage is:
\[ A = (DL - PL) \times (DW - PW) \]
Where:
The total area of a pool deck is most often considered the area of the deck not including the pool. It is calculated by subtracting the length and width of the pool from the length and width of the overall deck, then multiplying the results together.
Example 1:
Calculation:
\[ A = (50 - 30) \times (40 - 20) = 20 \times 20 = 400 \text{ sq ft} \]
Example 2:
Calculation:
