The formula to calculate the Voltage Unbalance (VU) is:

\[ VU = \left( \frac{MD}{Vave} \right) \times 100 \]

Where:

Voltage Unbalance (VU): The percentage difference between the maximum deviation from the average voltage and the average voltage.
Maximum Deviation from Average (MD): The highest difference between any individual voltage and the average voltage.
Average Voltage (Vave): The mean voltage value.

Let's say the maximum deviation from the average voltage is 5 volts and the average voltage is 120 volts. Using the formula:

\[ VU = \left( \frac{5}{120} \right) \times 100 \]

We get:

\[ VU \approx 4.17 \% \]

So, the voltage unbalance is approximately 4.17%.
