Formula

The formula to calculate the Plate Cost (PC) is:

\[ PC = L \times W \times T \times CPSI \]

Where:

$ PC $ is the Plate Cost ($)
$ L $ is the length (in)
$ W $ is the width (in)
$ T $ is the thickness (in)
$ CPSI $ is the cost per cubic inch ($/in³)

Definition

Plate Cost (PC): The total cost of the plate based on its dimensions and the cost per cubic inch.
Length (L): The length of the plate in inches.
Width (W): The width of the plate in inches.
Thickness (T): The thickness of the plate in inches.
Cost Per Cubic Inch (CPSI): The cost per cubic inch of the material.

Example

Let's say the length (L) is 10 inches, the width (W) is 5 inches, the thickness (T) is 0.5 inches, and the cost per cubic inch (CPSI) is $2. Using the formula:

\[ PC = 10 \times 5 \times 0.5 \times 2 = 50 \]

So, the Plate Cost (PC) is $50.
