To calculate the Land to Building Ratio (\(L:B\)):

\[ L:B = \frac{AL}{AB} \]

What is the Land to Building Ratio?

The land to building ratio is defined as the total square footage of a land parcel divided by the total area of the building footprint. This ratio is used in real estate to evaluate how much land is taken up by a building and to determine if there is room for further development.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Area of the Land (\(AL\)) = 50,000 ft²
Area of the Building (\(AB\)) = 10,000 ft²

Using the formula:

\[ L:B = \frac{50,000}{10,000} = 5 \]

The Land to Building Ratio is 5.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Area of the Land (\(AL\)) = 80,000 ft²
Area of the Building (\(AB\)) = 20,000 ft²

Using the formula:

\[ L:B = \frac{80,000}{20,000} = 4 \]
