Formula

The formula to calculate the Hydro Power (Ph) is:

\[ Ph = n \cdot p \cdot g \cdot h \cdot Q \]

Where:

Hydro Power (Ph): The amount of power generated by the movement of water, measured in watts.
Efficiency (n): The efficiency of the hydro power system, expressed as a percentage.
Height (h): The height from which the water falls, measured in meters.
Flow Rate (Q): The volume of water flowing per second, measured in cubic meters per second (m³/s).
Density of Water (p): The density of water, which is 997 kg/m³.
Acceleration Due to Gravity (g): The acceleration due to gravity, which is 9.81 m/s².

Let's say the efficiency is 90%, the height is 50 meters, and the flow rate is 3 m³/s. Using the formula:

\[ Ph = 0.90 \cdot 997 \cdot 9.81 \cdot 50 \cdot 3 \]

We get:

\[ Ph \approx 1,318,665.5 \text{ watts} \]

So, the hydro power is approximately 1,318,665.5 watts.
