Formula

To calculate the effort force:

\[ EF = \frac{LF \times D1}{D2} \]

What is an Effort Force?

An effort force is defined as the force applied to a lever to produce a given lever force. The effort force is dependent on the distances between the fulcrum and the lever and effort force points.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Step 1: Multiply the lever force by the distance from the lever to the fulcrum:

\[ 100 \times 2 = 200 \]

Step 2: Divide by the distance from the fulcrum to the effort point:

\[ \frac{200}{0.5} = 400 \text{ N} \]
