Formula

The formula to calculate the Variation Ratio (v) is:

\[ v = 1 - \left( \frac{f}{N} \right) \]

Where:

Variation Ratio (v): A measure of the dispersion of a set of data points, calculated by subtracting the frequency of the mode divided by the total number of cases from 1.
Frequency of the Mode (f): The number of occurrences of the most frequent value in the data set.
Total Number of Cases (N): The total number of data points in the data set.

Let's say the Frequency of the Mode (f) is 30 and the Total Number of Cases (N) is 100. Using the formula:

\[ v = 1 - \left( \frac{30}{100} \right) \]

We get:

\[ v = 0.7 \]

So, the Variation Ratio is 0.7.
