To calculate the spine width:

\[ SPW = TP \times P \]

\(P\) is the Number of Pages

What is Spine Width?

The spine width is the thickness of the book's spine, which is calculated by multiplying the page thickness by the number of pages. This is an important measurement for bookbinding and cover design.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following values:

Page Thickness (\(TP\)) = 0.05 mm
Number of Pages (\(P\)) = 200

Using the formula:

\[ SPW = 0.05 \times 200 = 10 \, \text{mm} \]

The Spine Width is 10 mm.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Page Thickness (\(TP\)) = 0.08 mm
Number of Pages (\(P\)) = 150

Using the formula:

\[ SPW = 0.08 \times 150 = 12 \, \text{mm} \]

The Spine Width is 12 mm.
