Where:

\(ST\) is the Shutter Time (seconds)
\(EFL\) is the equivalent focal length (mm)

Shutter Time Definition

Shutter Time is the duration for which the camera's shutter remains open to expose the sensor to light. It is calculated by dividing a value of 500 by the equivalent focal length in millimeters.

Example Calculation 1

Let's assume the following value:

Equivalent Focal Length (\(EFL\)) = 50 mm

Using the formula:

\[ ST = \frac{500}{50} = 10 \]

The Shutter Time is 10 seconds.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following value:

Equivalent Focal Length (\(EFL\)) = 100 mm

Using the formula:

\[ ST = \frac{500}{100} = 5 \]

The Shutter Time is 5 seconds.
