\[ ROETF = \frac{CP - PP + DP}{PP} \times 100 \]

$ PP $ is the ETF purchase price ($)
$ DP $ is the dividends per share ($/share)

What is Return on ETF?

Return on ETF (ROETF) is a measure of the profit or loss generated by an ETF investment over a specific period, expressed as a percentage of the initial investment. This calculation considers the current price of the ETF, the purchase price, and any dividends received per share.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

ETF Current Price $ CP $ = $120
ETF Purchase Price $ PP $ = $100
Dividends Per Share $ DP $ = $5

Step 1: Calculate the numerator:

\[ CP - PP + DP = 120 - 100 + 5 = 25 \]

Step 2: Divide by the purchase price and multiply by 100:

\[ ROETF = \frac{25}{100} \times 100 = 25\% \]

The Return on ETF is 25%.
