\[ PM = 1000 \cdot \left(1 + \frac{20}{100}\right) \cdot \frac{50}{100} = 1000 \cdot 1.2 \cdot 0.5 = 600 \text{ dollars} \]

The total poker markup paid by the investor is $600.

Example Calculation 2

Let's assume the following values:

Using the formula:

\[ PM = 500 \cdot \left(1 + \frac{10}{100}\right) \cdot \frac{30}{100} = 500 \cdot 1.1 \cdot 0.3 = 165 \text{ dollars} \]

The total poker markup paid by the investor is $165.
