The formula to calculate the Incline Rate (INCR) is:

\[ INCR = \frac{EG}{HD} \]

Where:

Incline Rate (INCR): The rate of incline, measured as the elevation gain per unit of horizontal distance.
Elevation Gain (EG): The vertical distance gained, measured in feet.
Horizontal Distance (HD): The horizontal distance covered, measured in feet.

Let's say the elevation gain (EG) is 500 feet and the horizontal distance (HD) is 2000 feet. Using the formula:

\[ INCR = \frac{500}{2000} = 0.25 \text{ ft/ft} \]

So, the incline rate is 0.25 ft/ft.
