$IV$ is the Original Item Value in dollars
$IC$ is the Item Condition rated 1-5

What is Donation Value?

Donation value is the estimated worth of an item when it is donated to a charitable organization. It takes into account the item's original value and its current condition. This value is often used for tax deduction purposes when donating goods to charity.

Example Calculation

Let's assume the following values:

Original Item Value ($IV$) = $100
Item Condition ($IC$) = 4

Using the formula:

\[ DV = 100 \times \left( \frac{4}{5} \right) = 100 \times 0.8 = 80 \text{ dollars} \]
