The formula to calculate the Assist Percentage (AP) is:

\[ AP = \left(\frac{FGA}{TFG}\right) \times 100 \]

Where:

\(AP\) is the Assist Percentage (%)
\(FGA\) is the Field Goals Assisted On
\(TFG\) is the Total Field Goals Made

What is Assist Percentage?

Assist Percentage is the percentage of a team's field goals that a player has assisted on. It is calculated by dividing the number of assists by the total number of field goals made, then multiplying by 100.

Example Calculations

Let's assume the following values for two examples:

Example 1:

Field Goals Assisted On (FGA) = 50
Total Field Goals Made (TFG) = 200

Using the formula:

\[ AP = \left(\frac{50}{200}\right) \times 100 = 25\% \]

The Assist Percentage is 25%.

Example 2:

Field Goals Assisted On (FGA) = 30
Total Field Goals Made (TFG) = 150

Using the formula:

\[ AP = \left(\frac{30}{150}\right) \times 100 = 20\% \]

The Assist Percentage is 20%.
